Pictures from my walk today
This Redwood is huge - it's got a crevice at the base of it that a 6 foot man can stand inside. One of these days, I'm going to bring a 6 foot man with me so I can take a photo of him inside the tree.



This is a Madrone. I love the way they grow - they twist in really interesting ways. The wood is a beautiful red color.



This is (I think) an Egret - it's all white and about 18 inches tall. I got as close as I could without startling it and then used the zoom.



Blue Heron. He's usually shyer - this is the first time I've been able to get a clear shot of him.

The blue herons are just amazing to watch. Hard to believe something that big can get off the ground.

7. I really am
It's just up the road from my house - maybe a mile or two. I drive up and walk the trail often. It's a small county park with a beautiful woods trail out to that lake at the end. About a 3 mile walk out and back.
