Anyone else here on Adderall XR?

Doc just switched me to it and I'm wondering if citric acid could be interfering with it. Switched me from Concerta(long-lasting Ritalin) to this because it was a better deal on my insurance. I have a couple glasses of orange juice every morning along with whatever meds i'm taking. google says it can happen but i wonder if it's that or if it's just the med not working as well for me as the concerta did.

1. it is a shame the the insurance company decides your

medication and not the dr. how long have you been on the adderall? were you given a chance for the concerta to get out of your system before you started the adderall?

i didnt think it was a big deal since i was just wondering if it could block absorption.

but to answer your questions, i've been on the adderall for 4 days and it hasn't done crap for me. yeah i went three days between my last dose of concerta and first of adderall.

3. you may need to give the adderall more time

in the meantime, i would lay off the oj/citric juices. always maintain open communication with your doctor. good luck.

4. yeah just talked to the pharmacist at my supermarket

she told me that what i'm doing basically is making my urine way acidic by doing that, which isn't a concern if you aren't on adderall, but with amphetamines, anything that contains adderall will greatly diminish the effects of the drug, by up to 90% if you're having a lot of it. now i obviously wouldn't feel 10% of the dose haha.

it's not a concern on a day like sunday but it would suck at work tomorrow because i work as a cop and i need to be alert at all times. that's what it's prescribed for because my mind has a tendency to wander. if i hadn't figured it out, i'd need to use some more vacation time. i already had to use 2 days cause of the fucking insurance company making the doc switch me. why mess with success i ask? i'd been on it for 5 years with no problem. oh well.

guess what insurance company? well i like to call them blue cross blue shit... but that's not their official name
