True story - when I was little I had one of those pools with the plastic blow up sides - some older (probably teens) kids one night came and slashed it with a knife.

9. I slashed my own pool once. True story.

It was one of those $15 wading pools for the kids, you know? About three feet high. Genius that I am--and dutiful husband in charge of lawn care--I'm out there trying to start the weedwhacker very close to the pool. Dang thing wouldn't start, finally after several pulls it roared to life.

Unfortunately, the whacker-line was longer than I had estimated. It sliced right through the side of the pool, about an inch from the ground. I was nearly swept away by a two-foot tsunami.
