I saw one of these on the road today:

It's the Audi R8. I don't like it as much from the front as I did from the back.

It's $120,000. I figure, with 10% down, I'll owe around $115,000 with tax (I'll want to buy the extended warranty). At 7% (which seems to be the avg car loan rate now), my payments will be around $2300.00 per month for 60 months.

Guess I'll keep on looking.

12. Where I live, I could buy a full fledged mansion with that kind of
money. It is super expensive, isn't it? :wow:

2. Wowza
It kinda looks like a TT, only much meaner. But this looks like a proper supercar: mid-engined, 4.2 litre V8 out of the RS6. Four-wheel drive. Sweet.

3. It's much bigger than the TT
It reeks of supercar with it's length, width and height. Article says it rivals some of the best from Porsche and AM.

7. A new RS6 drove by while I was walking into town this morning
I couldn't believe the noise it made. It was way louder than a BMW M5 that also went past a little later on.

Lot of expensive cars about today...

4. It would be a shame to reupholster it in dog hair
Pretty sure you can't get one without leather, either.

I think you should stick with Plan A.

5. Meh, if I could afford $120k for a car
I'd buy the Mazdaspeed for daily use, an XTerra for the weather, a Harley for fun and a Wellcraft Scarab because I could.

None of them are hybrids because I suck.

11. I've got one on preorder for the US launch next Spring.
I drove one for five years in Europe and loved it more than any other car I've driven. I can't wait to get my hands on another.

14. For all types of driving?
In town? Out of town? I am a real sucker for things like this.

15. I used it everywhere.
Most of my driving was in town (around Central London), but I also used it for longer journeys around the UK. To be fair, if you drove huge distances on the highway every day, it might get a bit wearing. The car is very light so it's affected more by wind and the suction caused by big rigs than a normal sedan, it's still very pleasant to drive in most conditions. It's the perfect commuter/shopper/tourer for congested areas.

What made it even better was that many municipalities in Europe charge much lower road taxes for Smart Cars, and there special, cheaper, parking spaces reserved for them.

13. Dayum, what a cool looking car.
I'm with you though. I'll have to keep looking. I could never see paying that kind of cash. Too bad they don't make sleek looking cars (that are cheaper) that are not muscle cars underneath too.

I've always wanted a Jaguar or BMW, but I don't need all that power to poot my way back and forth to classes and the grocery store. I just want a cool looking car.
