I hear every so often, at night, you hear a loud and low humming sigh from the Lincoln Memorial when BewshCo does something dumb to embarass the Republican name. Here, he's just admiring the view.

The ominous "Exorcist steps", where Father Karras and Burke Dennings took their final . . . painful "stumbles". I had just bought "American Hardcore: A Tribal History" at Kramerbooks in DuPont. Yeah, that was a long-ass walk.


And finally, my adorable five-year-old nephew with the sidewalk-chalk Spiderman I just drew him on my sister's deck. Yeah, don't look so enthused, kid.

The photos (and commentary) are terrific. I've never been to DC and it's on my list of places I have to see. I hope when I get there the Constitution isn't just an old piece of paper and a distant memory...

Spiderman is great! Your nephew may not let you know he's excited but I'm sure he's told others about it.

5. My 5 year old grandson would follow you home

if you drew a Spiderman like that for him.
He sleeps with a Spidey doll, on Spidey sheets, wearing Spidey jammies.
He rides a Spidey bike, wearing a Spidey helmet.
If there's no clean Spidey underwear he'll go find a dirty pair.
Miz t. made him a Spiderman birthday cake and I thought he was going to cry when we cut it.
He is a kid marketer's wet dream.

And he's NEVER seen a Spiderman movie.
His mom thinks he's not quite old enough for the violence yet.
