3. I got one of those when I had my wisdom teeth out.

The worst part about it was when the dentist "fixed" it. I won't describe the procedure as it is too gruesome for public consumption. I hope for your sake they are a bit less barbaric now then they were 10 years ago when it happened to me. :scared:

5. Wasn't too gruesome.

The dentist irrigated some really nasty smelling debris from the sockets, and then packed it with clove oil-impregnated iodophor, twice last week, the worst effect of which is about three hours of moderate drooling.

It's still sore, but it's about what I expected maybe 7-10 days out from extraction, having been told that in my late 30s it (the extractions, not the sockets) would take longer to heal.

Clove oil dressing goes well with Italian food. That's what I learned this week.

8. I think the worst of the pain is over.

Right now it's more like one of those aches that you get after a heavy workout, just enough to make me have trouble sleeping at night, although I'm comfortable enough sitting up. Unfortunately, I can't take anything to sleep since I need to answer calls from work at any hour of the night.

On the bright side, like I said, the clove oil goes well with Italian. It's ok with Thai, except it drowns out some of the more subtle flavors, and bean sprouts are still a bit tough to chew with my incisors.

9. Damn! That's the worst pain EVER!

And I've had several kidney stones. They gave me some pretty good meds and said take one every four hours, but they only relieved the pain for about an hour. Then the throbbing came back.

10. So the bright side is I'll be able to survive renal colic.

This experience has been both reassuring and disquieting. I've learned that I'm probably just going to sit at home when it's my time to have a heart attack.
