This job hunting thing is getting INSANE!
ok *breathe*

Job 1 (full time that I really wanted) hired from within.

Job 2 (6 month contract) hired me. Supposed to start Monday (hellish commute).

Yesterday, get a call out of the blue for Job 3.

Interview at 10am this morning. Tell them SUPPOSED to start contract Monday but its contract but I haven't burned any bridges in the past and would hate to work there for a month and leave (although I understand it happens).

Job 3 calls before I even get home and wants me to come in tomorrow at 11am to meet rest of team. The interview today was with my direct boss so I guess he likes me. He wants to expedite the process due to my SUPPOSED contract start Monday.

He won't be there tomorrow but will call in from home to get reactions and give me feedback.

So. If all goes well tomorrow, I won't be hired yet but will have to call contract job and back out at last minute (I HATE THAT) even though job 3 won't TECHNICALLY be mine (yet).

Oh and head-hunter called just now with job #4 possibility but its in Boston and would crimp my quality of life but I told him to go ahead and send in the resume anyway.

Never worked contract but don't want to be unemployed right after Xmas and don't know how easy it would be to interview while working for them anyway.

I'm done. We are going on a cruise of Boston Harbor tonight and i'm going to get shitfaced as the bar is 100% open and paid for.

:banghead:

I have the most diverse set of skills. Makes my resume really cluttered actually.

How is this for a partial list:

online marketing
offline marketing
Human Resources

IT support

that's what you get when you have been chief cook and bottle-washer for small companies for the last 5 years :eyes:

16. May you find a employment situation that you LUV
wherein you won't have to do squat can keep posting ridiculous stuff on DU and stay the heck out of Boston traffic.

Oh. . . if I was still married I'd hire you to replace Guido, my former imaginary cuckhold. (old joke)

But alas. . .I totally like your wife and am thoroughly distracted from such silliness at present.

No seriously, hope you find something that's great for you.

Patience. Don't settle on crap in desparation. Okay. . .? You guys deserve the best.

:nopity:

Oh boo hoo, I have too many offers. Woe is me.

Of course, since you don't have a job now, maybe you'd like to help me make my website suck a little bit less.

Of course I have set myself up for this reply: "Your website sucks? I'm not surprised, and also :nopity:"

20. Enjoy your cruise with Mrs. Matcom tonight!
I wouldn't want to work on a 6 month contract but that was the company you thought you wanted.

Change is often unsettling. I'm sure you and Mrs. M will figure it out. :loveya:

If they're expediting the interviews to beat your contract start date, that's a very good sign.
