I really hate being sick in the summertime!
I've been cleaning out lots & lots of old stuff that I really don't need.
Now that's a very good thing ... but I still have weeks of throwing stuff out in front of me.

The problem is I'm developing a sensitivity to dust mold.
I feel yucky! My temp of 101 seems to be gone .... finally.

:( I miss feeling good enough to play in the lounge.

4. I missed you while you were away from DU.
I have an apartment down in south florida. I'd like to move about 250 miles north of that for this winter. Daytona or Daytona Beach sounds like a better choice for me.

I'm still waiting for my newest toy to arrive ... a (used) 13 foot travel trailer. I usually take Miss Frodo with me and we are tired of smelly motel rooms and fast food.

Are you still on the east coast?

6. Yup, still in Maryland, in fact.
Doesn't look like I'll be going very far any time soon, and I'm okay with that. I graduated from college, finally, and I'm trying to find a career-type job. I found someone who I thought was special, but turned out he wasn't. Long story, but let's just say he's an ass (no, no one from DU). :P

I'm glad you ended up in Florida. I know you love being down there. I've always wanted a trailer like that, and the financial freedom to just drive all around the country. You'll have great fun with it.

9. I feel like I'm spread a little thin at times.
I still have my home in NY. That's where I am now. I said goodbye to my trike, tracker and favorite summer clothes on the first of May. I thought I was only going to be in NY for 3 weeks. One of my neighbors took pity on me and moved my trike 50 miles north into his garage when he moved out of the apartment above me. My ex is watering the plants and driving the tracker every two weeks (so it won't melt into the pavement). I'll have everything moved south eventually but for the foreseeable future I'll be commuting. After I finish bulldozing my way thought the mess around here I do plan on traveling and having fun.

Sorry your special guy wasn't the right one for the long run.

7. You sound like you've got the worst end of it.
I'm just taking it easy while waiting out this bout of yuckies. I don't usually have allergy problems ... but this place hasn't had a through cleaning since the maid quit 2 years ago. I've been walking around in a sweatshirt trying to stay warm.

I hope you feel better soon!

10. Hey, TC!
We seem to be taking turns with this ... not feeling okay thing.

I'm fighting the urge to go back to bed. I've been sleeping so much lately that I was awake almost every hour last night. :eyes: I don't want to start posting on DU at 3 AM every morning like I once did. It's fun but it screws up my sleep pattern.

If I don't clean the place ... it won't get cleaned. The condition I found it in May looked like it should have been condemned and raised to the ground instead of renovated.

 I should turn on some interior lighting (it's dreary and raining) and take a few pictures of the floor before it's covered in furniture again.

17. Oh, I'll top this
A few summers ago, during a 90+ degree heat wave, I came down with shingles.

In my ear canal.

And in my eye.

Think "icepick to the brain" pain, with sweltering heat and humidity adding to the festivities.

Still, I hope your feeling better.

19. I'm sorry for your pain ~
BTW ... It's called Ramsey Hunt Syndrome when shingles occur in this manner.
I found out all about it after 12/26/01 when shingles caused facial paralysis, pain in my ear canal and (yes) stabbing pains in my ear and eye. My symptoms aren't as severe now as they were 4 1/2 years ago but as you know ~ shingles never go away.

I hope you've found some relief or that your shingles are in remission.

20. Thanks, supernova.
It'll be great to see all of the corners and all horizontal spaces again.
Next week I plan to start packing books into boxes. There are a few secondhand booksellers around that I plan to visit when I'm finished with the cleaning and packing.

I'm hesitant to run a garage sale when I'm done with the cleaning. This winter someone came onto our property and stole a rather large expensive fiberglass extension ladder. x( I really don't want to invite strangers to look around as the house is hidden from the street.
