Crappy day
I was out on the boat, trying to do some work. Unfortunately the motor decided to make a clattering sound and promptly gave up the ghost. I think it's dead. None of us had cell phone reception so we had to wait for some kind soul to come and tow us back to the ramp. We didn't have to wait too long.

Driving home some jackass came unglued when I honked at him for not moving. He sat forever at the stop sign. Probably on the phone or something.

I come home and the a/c is on the fritz. Again. At least twice a year it requires and injection of freon (or whatever the modern day equivalent is) so it must mean there is a leak. Which is an EPA violation (not that they are doing much enforcement these days) and yet won't replace the unit which would me much cheaper for them and for me. So I am sitting here waiting for maintenance, wishing I had more beer.

1. I'm very sorry that you had to deal with all of that.
The drivers who talk on the phone and get in the way are the worst. They're a damned hazard!

I hope you can just report the AC broken and get a new one. :)

2. It may be more serious than just lack of freon
It was running inside (the fan was on I guess) but the unit outside was not on. I don't know anything about these things.

3. Having spent the last year working from a boat
it sounds like you were low on oil. Big bucks (hope its not your boat). If you get back on the water I suggest a Sea-Tow membership, likee AAA for the water. A free tow is always good to have (and not having a cell phone or radio is a violation).

On the bright side, well its sort of hard to find a bright side with all of the bummer stuff you had to deal with, but tomorrow is another day.

4. we had plenty of oil
in the reservoir. Now, I guess there could have been a problem with the delivery system if it stopped mixing the oil into the gas. I have no idea why we are still using 2-stroke engines. Well actually it is because they are too cheap to buy 4-strokes, but I digress. There's also an alarm that goes off when the oil is low. I heard no alarms. We had cell phones, just no coverage. I tried 5 different phones. The Laguna Madre is very remote (actually it isn't all that remote but there aren't any cell towers close enough to get reception) in a lot of it. They took away the only phone that ever worked out there- one of those ancient bag phones, but we always could get through. These stupid little phones they gave us instead- no reception in large parts of our area. It is just our group that has this problem too. Everyone else is close enough to get cell reception. Hell, they even get it in the Gulf.

People are good about helping out others around here. We've towed people in before.
