So where's the nerd clique?
I've heard the lounge is a cliquish place. Now, you might expect me to rage against this, and try to convince you all that we should all get along. Instead, I've decided to bow to the inevitable, so if the nerd clique will kindly identify themselves, I will be joining them forthwith (whether they like it or not BWAHAHAHAHAH! (See? I qualify already!)

3. I always thought nerd was more of a cultural thing.

"Geeks" refers to people who specialize in a particular thing that isn't playing sports. So we would be political geeks. A nerd is more like someone who gives off the aura of being intellectual and/or socially awkward as their primary cultural marker, (as opposed to giving off "athletic" or "pretty and popular")

8. I heard that now they allow professional chess players to play
with computers calculating their moves for them. Chess and I were over after that. I tried getting into Go, but that never took.

9. What's the point in that?
A computer calculates the moves for you, and all you're doing is moving pieces for it.

10. Exactly.
I have no idea why they would do that. The idea ruined it for me.
