9. It's a good point. Sometimes, just sometimes, I'm capable of excelling in my field.

Not typically, but when I do, oftentimes someone else's efforts are found lacking, and they get pissy, or destructive at my expense in an effort to protect themselves. For being wrong.

I've stopped buying into others' reactions so much, but my polite, community-loving, considerate side still struggles with "showing up". There are times that I've faked making mistakes or pretending to not know when someone is trying to save face in such situations, and it only makes me feel worse about myself. Then I get major razzing for the things that I'm not good at, which are many. Won't stop me from learning and having fun, even if it's only to learn and have fun.

Socialization is precarious. Competition is dangerous. Especially in this fear-based society. What are you gonna do except continue showing up and doing the work?
