1. No, Dan Radcliff is
roughly the same age as Harry Potter. Dan Radcliff will be 18 in a couple of weeks.

Is there some rule that all fictional child carachters must remain 7 forever?

4. Doesn't sound like it
The actors are aging at about the same pace as the characters. It was actually kind of funny to hear Rupert Grint's voice fight a losing battle with the onset of puberty in Prisoner of Azkaban.

5. He is about the same age as the character...
And he is not the least bit awkward...

He is doing a superb job of portraying Harry...

I wouldn't compare him to Fred Savage at all...

7. In the 7th book the character is 18, and Dan Radcliffe is 18 now
but they haven't yet started filming the 6th movie yet, so by the time the 7th movie is filmed he will be 3 or 4 years older than the character. No big deal.

8. Since maturity levels of the fans are counterintuitive, why should his be different?
But who am I kidding? I still like Watership Down. :hide:

9. Watership Down is a masterpiece
And a shrewd and insightful look at social organization and the human impact on nature as well as a great story.

The Harry Potter books are, I guess, very entertaining to a lot of people, but I found them pretty pedestrian, with only marginally decent writing or character development and not really much to say about anything except to tell a story that I found rather boring. Which is too bad because I thought the idea (a world where sorcerers were real and a school where they went and learned their stuff) was a really good one. I went into it hoping to like it. And I didn't.
