Skyline appreciation thread
And I don't mean the chili, though it's to be appreciated too.

Post pics of your favorite skylines. I'll start in Pittsburgh, PA

I was in Pittsburgh last night to watch the Cubbies, actually. Not to hijack my own thread but PNC and Wrigley are my two favorite ballparks.

6. Home sweet home...

Charlotte, NC - "The Queen City"
I moved there at the age of 5, and stayed in the area until 1998.
I still have family down there, and i do miss it on occasion... well, unless it's July/August, when the temps there are close to 100, and the humidity in the high 90%s. Then i'm glad to be in the "Wild and Wonderful"

46. Well if you went to the Shedd you were at the leftmost
portion of that night pic. The Planetarium is about 3 blocks east of the Shedd.

I was once a great planetarium but the management changed and a UFO landed around
the building. You know, progress. They kidified the place. Well after that I ended
my longime membership.

49. If you ever come to NH
Be sure to come into town on I-293. I-93 goes through a remote part of town, but 293 hugs the Merrimack River, and gives you a nice view of downtown, the massive old mill buildings, and the minor league ballpark.

Oh, and we love fireworks! There's the big "SkyShow" on Memorial Day weekend, the 3rd of July fireworks with bands and fried dough at Arms Park, and a whole bunch of post-game fireworks following Fisher Cat games.

Does it really feel like the mountains are looming over you when you're in the city, or does this shot foreshorten things?

from this vantagepoint which is on the west side of town. I probably shot this with the 70-200 lens. However, on Anchorage's east side, the mountains do indeed loom. In the southeast part of town, known as "The Hillside," people have built homes a ways up the slopes.

Here's one maybe a little more to scale.
