I love sex, but tend to view it in terms that is is more meaningful than simply a recreational sport, at least for myself. I think in many ways, my life would be easier if I didn't mean so much,at least less frustrating in certain respects. I do not, however, think sex though has to be confined only to marriage.

I'm a terrible lier in most respects. I tend to be guilty of lies of omission, but to draw a line, that would have to be along the lines of whether someone else got hurt.

Just plain lies are to either keep yourself out of some trouble you have earned, or to prevent someone from getting what they HAVE earned. Both are wrong. But are possibly forgivable, depending on the severity of said lie.

Actually yes. Sort of. I was about 12. I was explaining to a young girl in my class, a girl of African descent, that she was indeed a "Negro." I then went on to mind-numbing detail of exactly what that meant. She didn't care. It sounded too much like an insult to her and she flattened me. It's worth observing that by junior high, she and I were close friends.

9. What are your opinions of pre-marital sex?

First and foremost, I don't think it's any business of a government. I believe that any parties engaged in premarital sex should be consenting adults. I know the definition of adulthood varies from person to person, and that some children/teens develop faster than others. I'm really just trying to point out that many young men and women haven't the emotional base necessary to understand and deal with sexuality, with vulnerability and rejection; much less the risks of STD and pregnancy.

Once it's been narrowed to consenting adults, it's pretty much between the individuals involved, their conscience, and any gods or goddesses in whom they have faith. It's really not my business, and my judgement hasn't been all that good in my own life; I'm not sure it's wise to turn it lose on someone else.

10. At what point do you draw the line between little white lies and just plain lies?

From what I read, I think I draw the lines broader than most. It's easy to determine in simple matters where someone's giving you a polite answer about your new outfit, or when someone has floated a malicious lie which could end your career or relationship.

But it get's more difficult when you consider that many folks are hurt by the very act of the lie. Some, perhaps even most, feel hurt and outraged to learn that someone they're close with has floated even a relatively harmless lie. So hurt isn't really the determining factor for me: It's intent.

If a friend embellishes their intelligence or accomplishments, then I see that as being derived from insecurity. The intent isn't to make me feel foolish (even if that's a side-effect) it's to make them seem more likable, more worthy. While it indicates work to be done in the matters of self-esteem and communicating, it's not what I would classify as a malicious lie.

Obviously, concocting something hurtful with the intent of sabotaging someone else's relationship, - that's a malicious lie.

My take on it is that it may be good to "sacrifice" your own earthly pleasure to a "higher power/principle" by not indulging in pre-marital sex. However, choosing not to make that sacrifice doesn't make you *bad*, it makes you normal. Indulging in pre-marital sex for the sake of pure personal physical gratification, rather than as an expression of feeling for your partner, is the bad. And if both parties are clear on a "no harm, no foul" one night stand, maybe not even then.

Does that make sense?

When they're being told more to prevent harm to me than to prevent harm to another. Obviously there's loopholes and exceptions in that, but it's a useful first cut.
