I saw the movie 'Prayer for Owen Meany' last night and didn't even know it.

The only John Irving books I've read were 'Garp' and 'Hotel New Hampshire'. I don't know how close this movie (almost 10 years old) followed its book, but it was an OK story that had about 7 endings. Most of the 'surprises' were telegraphed well in advance.

Not great, but an OK way to pass a couple of hours with your father-in-law while the wimmins were playing Bunco.

Oh yeah, we also had beer.
