help - vague memory of a movie scene
Edited on Thu Jun-21-07 01:33 PM by momophile
I have a fuzzy memory of a movie scene that had a piranha pond in someone's living room. And maybe someone got pushed into it. If this movie is real, I'm guessing it was from the 1970s.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? (and if it's from a popular movie that I just haven't seen since I was 5 but everyone else knows, then I'm already hiding :hide: )

1. Well... There was a whole lot of that sort of thing in the Bond James Bond movies.
But, I think I remember what you're remembering... Seems like the guy was wearing a
powder blue leisure suit.

5. Is there anything else you can remember about the movie or show?
I don't have much to go on here. :)

4. Only one Bond movie, IIRC
You Only Live Twice.

Thunderball had a guy with sharks in his backyard swimming pool, but it wasn't in his living room.

9. I think that was Stromberg
in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977).

The budget for Dr. No couldn't afford sharks :P

edited to give credit where credit is due!!!

Thanks for the lead, Pwag. I've found it. I might even rent it.

'Connery is allowed a few choice pithy remarks, such as when he pushes a henchman into the pirahna pool and quips, "bon appetit." '

6. Yes indeed, and gourmand Bond mispronounces it
As my high school French teacher was keen to point out, that he said "teet" instead of "tee".

7. thanks for the help
I'm not a big James Bond fan, but I've had this scene in my head for, must be, 30 years now and I'd like to pinpoint it so I can go on with my life.
:hi:
