4. But I have to tell you,
IT WAS HILARIOUS!!

I have only ever seen the tryouts. I never saw the actual competition. But I am addicted.

7. I'm proud to say
I've never watched a single second of that crap.

It reminds me of a headline on People or Us or one of those other useless celebrity gossip rags in the grocery store that read something like: REUBEN OR CLAY? THE CONTROVERSY OF THE YEAR!

The biggest controversy of 2003 was most definately NOT anything related to "reality TV".

9. The try-outs are the
funniest, some of those people were so awful and they actually think they sound good. :wow: I was laughing out loud at some of them they were so bad and so funny. :bounce:

10. My wife and kids
love that show. I've only watched it a few times and didn't like the put downs, although some were very talented...

11. Not me. No way.
My wife is a HUGE fan of that show. I personally can't stand it. When she puts it on, I leave the room and go upstairs to read.

One thing that really bothers me is the put-downs of so many of the tryouts. While many of these people are definitely lacking in the talent department, I find it sick that such pleasure is taken in completely humiliating them.

Plus, I'm not a big fan of that musical genre, anyway....

12. Yeah...
>>>Plus, I'm not a big fan of that musical genre, anyway....

Yes, the musical genre known as "crap".

I've watched a bit of it over the seasons and all I can say is that just as technical ability does not make a musician, vocal range and such does not make a vocalist.

Plus, the judges focus on one style of singing, not even one I find interesting. Near the end of the thing they all sound pretty much alike.

Fooey :)

Yes, the musical genre known as "crap".

But you certainly hit the nail on the head with this one.
