2004: The Year of the Monkey
The Chinese New Year begins Thurs, Jan 22 at midnight and 2004 is the Year of the Monkey. It is preceded by the new moon on Wednesday, Jan 21. I am no expert on things astrological, but I will burning my candles and meditating deeply during this time.

Whatever spiritual way you prefer - whether it's meditation, prayer, or running around naked in your backyard (but it must be positive and bring no harm to anyone or anything), it would behoove us all to do some positive psychic work during this week.

For more on the Year of the Monkey and 2004, I found this through "The Guardian" website. If any of you are more "educated" on this subject, please feel free to post. Thank you.

1. Good thing chimps aren't monkeys...
Otherwise it might seem like the year of the Smirking Chimp!

No offense intended to observers of the Chinese New Year.

4. But remember
the Year of the Monkey will end in Jan. 2005, right about the time a NEW PRESIDENT is sworn in. Let him have his year, so long as it is the last year he besmirches the Presidency. Send him back to his "ranch" where he can play video games and watch the Weather Channel all day long.

5. Not to worry...
I've actually been thinking of posting this, but hadn't gotten around to it.

The year of the monkey occurs once every 12 years. That means that every third presidential election occurs during a "monkey year."

Last one was 1992

Before that was 1980

Before that was 1968

Ask yourself: what do all of these presidential election years have in common?

That's right. Each was an election year in which the incumbent was NOT the one who was sworn in the following Jan. 20th, and in the case of 80 and 92, the incumbent was defeated. In 68, the incumbent decided not to run.

6. I have thought about that.
I am hoping that 2004 keeps that pattern up. For other Monkey year where the incumbent was defeated: 1932. Herbert Hoover was defeated by FDR, beginning 20 years of Democrats in the White House.

Anyways, I am a sheep. Last year was a sheep year. This horiscope said 2003 would be a bad year and it was. THe same site said this year would be a good one. Hopefully that is correct.
