Ecology is a lot of crap, per Rapture Ready crowd.

post 3 "You are right! God does not make mistakes! He gave us fossil fuels to burn and consume He new through our technology we would learn to use them more and more efficiently as time went on."
I guess the same logic does not apply to stem cell research or the technology that discovered global warming.

"I truly believe that 'global warming' religion was created to explain away the Biblical scriptures that for warn of pending natural disasters."
Here we see the fundamental misunderstanding of science. What we believe is irrelevent. Science relies on facts, not subjective belief and that is why it is not a religion. If science is a religion, then health is a disease.

post 9 "When temperatures have increased, humanity has benefitted. It's just a fact."
Good news, Australia, drought is good for you!

post 14 "Remember, the termperature on Mercury and a few other planets is increasing aswell. I can't imagine that THAT has anything to do with emissions on earth."
That's news to this astronomer. Which Bible verse revealed that?

"IMO the flood created the fossil fuels"
'In my opinion?' Here is the problem. This is a proposed factual statement that either is or is not true. It is not a matter of opinion. Anyway, it sure was thoughtful of Noah to deposit all the marsupials in Australia only.

post 2 "All along, the so called global warming problem has just been something the green people have used to get their agenda on the top of the list. the hole in the ozone layer didnt do enough to get people riled, so they got to use whatever they can to sway political views and cause unrest and panic so they can take away our rights."
Well, at least he did not try to blame the godless liberal media.

post 5 "I read a pamphlet where the author asserts that oil is not a fossil fuel but is manufactured by forces deep with in the earth. That got me to thinking and guess what Noah covered the inside and out of the Ark with pitch. I looked up the word in Strong's and found that the word was bitumen which is basically tar. Now where did this petroleum product come from before the flood. Might lend credence to this mans theory. Before I'm flamed I know coal was formed from the flood, and it is possible other hydrocarbons were also, but makes one think doesn't it."
A pamphlet, huh? I think it is funny that this guy can't figure out how Noah pitched his nonexistent ark when all oils were created by the nonexistent global flood. Hey, buddy, you can get pitch from trees, you know. Maybe maple syrup came from the flood too.

post 6"Global warming, solar warming, cycles, end-times; all the same in my book. Don't need money to fix, just Salvation and the return of the King."
I saw that movie with all those hobbits. So the solution is to hope to escape the damage we all caused by going to heaven and leaving the problem for the rest of us. Let us know how that works out for you.

"I watched a video yesterday about global warming. In looking at past records, including in ice cores from Greenland and Antartica, the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere does correlate with average global temperatures,..."
Du-u-u-u-uh, I know science and stuff.

Starting on the second page, a non-literalist gets into an argument about what constitutes evidence.

post 65 "Science books have been and will continue to be revised because they represent flawed assumptions in may instances, but the word of God will be the same forever."
Correcting errors is a flaw?

post 117 "The stars don't sing? Talk to an astronomer."
Per astronomer (me): The stars don't sing. There is no sound in space.

"Sand has been shown to vibrate when exposed to sound waves."
That's what sound is, genius, vibrations in matter. Space is a vaccuum.

1. The poster girl for these wackos...
"God gave us the earth. We have dominion over the plants, the animals, the trees. God said, 'Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it! It's yours.'"

2. Even trying to look at it from a fundamentalist perspective
Edited on Fri Jun-15-07 11:16 AM by bushwentawol
one would have to view the earth and all of God's creation as a gift to man. Any misuse or careless destruction of that gift should be seen as a mortal sin. The prevailing view that we should not care what happens and just rape the earth because judgment day is coming soon is blasphemy.

4. I love the idea that fossil fuels came from the flood,
maybe that's what happened to all that extra water? I've always wondered where it went.

6. and another thing
The word of God is forever, and yet it is passed down to us in human language, transcribed into ?aramaic? then translated again and again down through the ages. Added to, subtracted from, imprecisely done. Anyone who knows more than one languages knows how difficult it is to get all the content and the magic from one language to another. Who knows what god really said. Maybe he said this is your only world, don't shit on it.
