6 Year Old Girl Dies While Trying To Change TV Channel

CANAL POINT, Fla. -- Authorities said a young girl died Sunday when she tried to change the channel on a television set.

A Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said six-year-old Azia Latmiore was trying to change the channel Sunday morning, but the television she was watching sat on top of a dresser. She couldn't reach the TV, so she pulled out a dresser drawer and tried to stand on it. That made the dresser and the television fall on top of the girl.

She was taken to a hospital and died there Sunday afternoon.

The spokeswoman said authorities were investigating, but the death appears accidental.
