CD-R Burning Software
hey all,

I got a CD Burner for Christmas and am not too crazy about the software that came with it (Iomega HotBurn Pro).

I'm looking for software that:

- Rips songs
- Burns MP3 discs in the order you list tracks
- Allows you to click and drag songs in the list to change order
- I would prefer free, but am willing to pay a reasonable shareware price

Any suggestion?

4. Nero is my choice
For all around best burning software. Yes, it will convert mp3's to CD tracks and it will allow you to choose the order of the songs. Many cool features, but it ain't free. I am pretty sure you can download an eval though.

9. Nero isn't free...does anybody know of an MP3-->CD converter that is?
I use iTunes and Winamp and would like to convert from MP3 format to CD-playable format. How can I get started?

11. iTunes
It really, really is free. Completely. No strings. Does everything you are looking for, and it has the trademark Apple quality and ease-of-use. Nothing compares...there is a reason Time chose to feature iTunes when twenty other programs supposedly offered similiar features.

12. I use iTunes and really like it. How do I convert?
I'm listening to streaming music with iTunes right this second. After burning a CD with it, I still do not know of a conversion tool that will allow the CD to be played on an ordinary stereo.

14. iTunes makes "regular" CD's from MP3s
Edited on Mon Jan-19-04 10:04 AM by Atman
I use my iTunes CD's in my standard CD player, and make MP3 disks to play in my portable. They all work great.

There is a catch with iTunes, though minor...if you buy your music from Apple, they are mp4's, not mp3, and will not play in mp3 CD players. But, if you tell it to burn a standard CD, it does the conversion on the fly. The CD will be playable in any player.
