Does anyone have a deer chaser fountain?

So Mr. Writer and I broke down and refreshed our landscaping last week. In a fit of wannabe Asian-ness, we purchased the bamboo parts for a deer chaser fountain which, if you don't know what that is, makes a clack-clacking noise when the bamboo dipper empties into a pool. (And if you still don't know what that is, check out the battle scene with O-shen Ishii in "Kill Bill, Part 1" - there's a deer chaser there, as well.)

As much as I'd love to set this up in our backyard, I'm concerned that the noise may be a little much for our neighbors. Does anyone have one of these in their yard? Is the noise aggravating to others?

1. Had a couple

when we lived in Oregon...no problem

with the noise level then. They are a nice addition to

the garden IMO. And the birds loved them.

2. You could always add

a piece of foam or rubber where it clacks if it gets too annoying.

3. Our neighbors are Hawaiian, and they turned us on to these

the noise from the ones in their yard were so subtle (to us) that they became unnoticeable to us almost immediately. I don't think you'll have a problem.
