Point of fact, when I get the chance, I do solar observing myself. I actually videotaped the transit of Venus (I think it was '04ish) through a telescope with a full-aperture solar filter. One can also watch it on spaceweather.com.

While the RR poster is not clear on what he means, I get the feeling that he means he has been following rumors and misunderstood reports. After all, what good is observing the sun or doing anything scientific when all they need to know is in the Bible?
