I was cruising YouTube last PM, trying to find some music to bring me down from rampant insanity to mere lunacy. I did a quick search for one of my all-time fave mellow tunes, which happens to be Brook Benton singing Rainy Night In Georgia.

Well, I found the song alright, but it was a version I had never heard before- it was Conway Twitty and Sam Moore doing just the most fantastic version of it. It almost brought tears to my eyes. I know it's probably been a classic since they first did it, but it's the first time I've had the pleasure. I think I've played it about twenty times so far today.

i love this song, i got out of my car the other to throw some trash away and the stereo was on playing this song, i realized then i was one those people, the ones you hate when you're at a red light and all you hear is bass coming from the car next to you.

I can't get my sister to understand that there is a great well of talent and artistry that flows from the roots of rap. At its best it's a magnificent form of musical expression and communication.
