I bought a car
Edited on Fri May-25-07 06:33 PM by lizziegrace
Sometimes when good things are happening you your life, you just hang on and see where things lead. My insurance situation is straightened out, I really, really like my job and a man I thought I'd chased off due to my own insecurities isn't gone at all.

I applied on eloan and was declined (no big surprise). My information was sent to a dealer in my town and they contacted me. Problem with the car I wanted was the 140,000 miles on it. They had two local banks who would loan me the money at a decent rate given my credit, but both wouldn't touch an 8 year old car with that many miles. The dealer had gotten a car from another location for a customer who ended up wanting something "sportier". It's a 2000 Taurus with 51k on it. It's a color I want, has the options I want and I got it for a price that was the same as the Volvo with 3 times the miles. The payments are low enough to not make me run screaming and with the bonuses I get at work, can be paid off early very easily. I kept the Honda for Lelapin to use after finding out that her grandparents are going to help with her dorm expenses until she finishes school. :wow:

It's not my dream car but it's a good car and that's all that matters right now. It's also a Flexible Fuels vehicle. Didn't know Ford was doing that in 2000...

It's been a wild few days.

I had a Taurus years ago...it was a good car. Hopefully you'll have good luck with it.

I have to figure out how to get the Honda from the dealer. I could only drive one car home.

I wish you many, many trouble-free miles.

And congrats to Lelapin too, on her 'new' car; may she also have many, many trouble-free miles.

It's a sure sign of the apocolypse! May not happen again until Haley's comet appears...

12. CONGRATS!!!
Nobody drives their dream car. The guy in the Viper wants a Lambo. The guy in the Porsche wants a Ruf. The guy in a Hummer wants...well, a bigger penis. That's another issue, though.

I hope your new ride serves you and your family well.

15. Thank you
I was the son my father never had. I *loved* cars. But as I get older, I see them more for functionality than to express some part of my personality.

And don't get me started about the guys with Hummers...

I'm sure I'll be down sometime this summer so Lelapin can visit them.

I'll let you know!

20. Look at you!
Dang, lizziegrace, I can't keep up!

Good find on the car -- I hope there are many, many maintenance-free miles in it for you. It looks on the outside like it belonged to people who took care of it (or at least didn't bang it into a lot of things).

Have a great weekend with lelapin and ZombieNixon!

:patriot:

I've been told life with me is never, well, dull. ;) This is it for a while. I can't think of anything else that needs fixed or replaced unless one of the other appliances decide I have money hidden somewhere. I *do* need a vacation. :)

Lelapin and ZombieNixon are coming up for the day tomorrow. Can't wait to see them and I have some things Zombie can help me move and lift that I can't alone. hehehe...

:patriot:
