1. I've always been an early riser. I love the smell of the air first thing in the morning.

2. Autumn because it smells like adventures. I always want to take off and travel in the autumn.

3. I wanted to be a veterinarian. I didn't do it but I ended up working for a friend who did for several years.

I got used to it. Every morning, 5AM, I'm out of bed. No reason to be in it. Nobody to be in it with either but I'm used to that too. :rofl:

No/Not at the time. Once I start (so many people saying so many things and I want a ROI just like everyone else too) I'll let you know if college is any better. The admissions lady was HOT, but probably as 'encouragement' to sign up.

4. Here goes:

1) I've usually been a late riser, but I think it was because I was an insomniac/have sleep apnea. I can get up pretty early nowdays.

2) Fall. The crisp air and cool nights does it for me.

3) A rock star. Or a musician. I do the music thing part-time, so yeah, I guess I did end up doing it. :)

4) Didn't like school, loved college, even though it was tough.

5) Lately, I'd have to say fruit of some sort. I'm on a bit of a health kick lately. :)

6) The living room/den/recording studio/etc. I only have two rooms (excluding the bath and tiny galley kitchen), and the bedroom is very small (8x8). So it would have to be the LR.

5. Still morning here so...

1. Yes, by nature. I'm wired to wake up just before sun rise. It can stink on days when I have no reason to be up early.

2. Fall. Leaves, cider, and pumpkins.

3. Teacher. No, never pursued it although I have had jobs where training was a big part of my job description.

4. Loved school until my family life became chaotic. After that it was just a means to an end, as was college.

5. Not much of a dessert person. I do like cookies.

LeftyKid is a morning person. I'm not, but I really don't trust him to have an hour or so unsupervised in the AM, so I have to get up.

Fall. It's not too hot, too cold or too rainy. The air smells nice.

3. What did you want to be when you were a kid? Did you end up doing it?

I wanted to be a marine biologist or a paleontologist. Later I realized that I'm not so big on dirt and that would be problematic in either career.

So far it's okay. I'm a returning student and I have one final left to finish my freshman year.

Pumpkin pie. I make amazing pie.

The living room has my desk and LK's toybox. It's where we spend most of the time we're not working on anything else.

Autumn - It represents both an end and a beginning. The end of summer and the growing season - and the miserable DC summer. But Autumn is also when the school year, the arts seasons, football and hockey and the holiday season begins.

I wanted to be a radio DJ, and I did it on my College Station for three years.

1. Are you an early riser? If so, is it because you like to or because you have to? I get up at 6:00 a.m. on school days, about 7:00 on weekends. I'm by nature a night-owl, so I'm usually dragging by early afternoon.

2. What's your favorite season and why? I like early spring when things are just starting to come back to life. After Memorial Day, it's too hot and humid for me.

3. What did you want to be when you were a kid? Did you end up doing it? Lots of things...but I ended up becoming a teacher because there weren't as many options for girls in those days.

1. Are you an early riser? If so, is it because you like to or because you have to?

Nope...I'm nocturnal, but I'll get up early if I have to (though I never really get used to it, entirely, even if work or other activities force me up early consistently)

2. What's your favorite season and why?

Depends where I am -- what country or region -- but if I had to pick one, relative to a temperate or warm-temperate place that actually has distinct seasonality, it'd most likely be spring.

3. What did you want to be when you were a kid? Did you end up doing it?

A park ranger, mostly, and it morphed into ecologist or similar scientist. Never was a park ranger, because I quickly got overqualified (though I've worked with protected-area personnel plenty, as a scientific researcher), but I ended up doing the rest of it.

4. Did/do you like school? College?

Yes, and I was always good at it, though by the time my PhD dragged near conclusion (the last year was mostly required because some of my PhD committee members were slackers and did not get together or read the dissertation, a pretty common problem) I was no longer a particular fan of university life, tertiary education, or academia in general. I got burned out, mostly on the petty politics and the machinations of middle-level administrative types on power trips. I got exposed more to it than most grad students 'cos I brought in a fair bit of grant money and some of these Blue Meanies in the hierarchy did not appreciate a lowly grad student rising above his station (though I discovered the solution, that's a good one for anyone in such a position to think about: go right to the top...I did, and I was able to do or buy anything I wanted as a result, and the power-mad midlevel types absolutely hated that :D ).

Probably various flavors of ice cream, or derivations (milk shakes -- yum -- sundaes, etc), though trifle is an old favorite (the key exception that proves the rule about British food).

My bedroom. I'm in a bigger place than I was earlier this year, but I still basically live in my bedroom.
