28. I have no idea who he gets the freckles from.

When he was born he had really curly strawberry blond hair. The red's mostly gone away and it's very straight and fine now. His hair's just like my sister's hair when she was that age.

31. The quirks thrown out when kids are born

are so funny. Everybody in my family is short (the "tall" one is 5'8") and yet my brother has had 2 sons that were 9lbs12 oz and 10lbs4oz at birth, and both of their moms are tiny (5'2", maybe 120lbs soaking wet). With my first nephew, we thought it was his maternal grandfather giving him the height and size. With the new one, we now think it comes from our great-great grandfather, who was a 6'6" redheaded bear of a man (only person ever in the fam that tall, though there's lots of redheads). Funny what shows up in that genetic dice toss!
