I Found The Best Theory on "L O S T " (Spoiler Alert)
Found this online, and it fits in with the theme of the show. IT'S TIME TRAVEL:

1. That's an interesting read
I'm not a big fan of the show, but someone keeps me relatively up to speed on it. This would certainly explain the type/style of the Dharma objects.

3. Have you seen this (LINK) one though? It's much more complete, IMO.
Ultimate Lost Theory

Whomever the person is who made this has done an obsessive amount of crunching on the information. If you haven't married yourself to the theory you posted yet, do check it out. I'm not even a fan of the show (though I've seen 3 episodes) and the theory works very well with both what I've seen and what I've heard goes on.

4. I have my own "Lost" theory...
Cram together the worst of "Gilligan's Island" and "The X-Files" and you get "Lost." ;-)

14. If Lost was an X-File it would have been solved in two or three episodes.

11. I think...
That "Lost" doesn't actually have a point. I was reading episode synopses on Wikipedia, and I honestly think this is somebody's acid dream come true--make a killing on a TV show about, er, nothing. Not that Seinfeld didn't already accomplish that...

17. Oh, it does have a point! Have you heard about the commercial leverage...
...they've gotten off the show? If you go back to Wiki and check the commercial endorsements, there have been quite a number of tie-ins with major production companies- Jeep comes to mind most notably. Because of the web-based game (where one visits sites to find "clues") it has generated a large amount of click-through revenue.

It's kind of like the World of Warcraft, which was intentionally modelled with an intermittent-reinforcement aspect when it comes to treasure drops, especially. Keep them hooked. Before they lose interest, toss 'em a morsel. Rinse, and repeat.

Though I'd say the show is as jejune as just about any other T.V. show, I will say that from viewing a few episodes it seems well-put-together. I'm not sure if well-crafted mindless entertainment is ultimately any "better" than shoddily-crafted mindless entertainment but it's certainly more watchable for those who have self-selected to become regular viewers.

12. My not particularly long-thought-out theory has been Time....
Travel for a few weeks now. 'Just because the "purgatory" idea sounded too silly. (And time travel doesn't? :eyes: )

The issue that I have with all of the elaborate theories, is that I don't think the creators and writers of the show have given it the same depth of thought as the theorists.

I think last season and the early part of this season had a lot of new characters and events that looked like someone put up a chart of different possibilities and someone else threw darts at it to decided which ones to use.

The show will get better and more focused now that an ending date has been chosen.

18. My theory, which I formed in Season 1, is that they are making it up as they go along.
I still watch LOST, but stopped recording it to keep by the second season. I think the writers and creator are more interested in stringing the show along than they are in having a show that would go down in tv history as being great. It should have been 1 season long with 23 dynamite episodes, think of The Prisoner. Now its more about making money in syndication than quality.
