Poll question: If the laptop is on clearance price, should I buy it?
I could use a laptop when working away from home on some of my projects.

1. If you can afford it, then yes.
If your budget can handle it, and you'll use it, then you should get it and enjoy it. :)

3. Not sure; it's compusa's closing out sale. Until now,
every laptop was about 10% off. Yawn.

The last two days, prices should plummet.

They had some Acer, Sony, and Toshiba units left. By now all being only floor models, a couple of which probably are XP models - not vista. I may not be able to get an extended warranty, knowing how long LCD screens last... :D

4. Oh, I see.....
I would consider a Toshiba unit, fwiw. Sony products are just not made tough; if these are floor models I bet that would be the most battered.

7. Lowest priced one was still $990. Far more imprtantly,
the number of "guest workers" there only reminded me it's pointless to study anything anymore.

6. HELL YES
I bought a kickass thinkpad last fall that was on clearance at CDW. Its a Centrino chip. So what, it has everything else that the Core 2 Duo models had except it was $500 cheaper.
