Did anybody see this show on the History International Channel? The segment yesterday was entitles Legion. Here is the blurb from their website:
Life And Death In Rome
Legions.
The true-life action-adventure story of the life and career of Maximus, a Roman soldier who fought in Rome's very own version of the Gulf War against a rogue state called Dacia. We see how the Imperial Legions ruled the world for centuries--and follow Maximus's training and service in Rome's bloody war on terror.
It followed Maximus through the Dacian campaign that trajan fought there, and the capture and suicide of the Dacian King. Then how the whole thing turned into an insurrection and pulling out of Dacia under Emp. Hadrian.
Scenes of the legions in Dacia were intersperced with scenes from the Iraq War and insurrection as if they were one in the same. Very interesting.
