The Milky Way is going to smash into the Andromeda galaxy in just 5 billion years...

Everything is pointless...

That fucking science channel....

3. It's so horrible!
In 5 billion years everything here could cease to exist!

If we haven't killed ourselves off with a nuclear holocaust, a genetically created incurable disease, global warming, or shot each other first that is.

4. Its not such a big deal...I betcha both galaxies will pass on through with no problem.
Stars are so far apart. Think about getting 50 friends together. Get 25 of them to stand SOMEWHERE, randomly, north of the equator. Get another 25 to stand south of the equator. Have each of them throw a marble across the equator. What are the chances that two of the marbles actually collide?

Yeah...well, stars are even farther apart that that, relatively speaking. The chances two marbles collide is larger.

5. Oh, it's worse than that
Our sun will become a red giant in 4.5 billion years. The surface of the sun will expand to about our orbit, leaving us a scant handful of million miles from the ball of fiery gases and turning the Earth into a cinder.

Better stock up on SPF 35,000,000 sunblock at Wal-Mart. The sell it by the bottle AND by the vat!
