Looks like they have a 24.95 special.

If you click in the upper right and put in "100" as the code you get a few different offers, one of those is dozen colored roses, free chocolate, and a vase for 29.98

To add to the "value" seeking.:-) If you sign up with this website and click on the proflowers link through there, you get 12% back on your purchase. They pay-out through paypal, I've used them so everything is on the up and up.

2. Probably Costco
AFAIK the only time their prices on flowers go up is for Valentine's Day. $14.95 for two dozen roses last time I checked (in a store, that is, not online).

3. Flowers are such a rip off
You pay all that money for only a couple of days enjoyment. How about a nice plant?

6. As a mom I can say a handwritten letter telling your mom
why you love her and how you appreciate what she did for you, will mean way more than flowers or anything you could buy.

8. They throw flowers away at funeral homes all the time
There's some good pickin's in the dumpster. Or just go to a graveyard and gather up some nice ones. Some of those even have cards.

18. In my experience, most funeral homes donate leftover flowers.
to a church or even to nursing homes. I assume they take off the mournful ribbons and such.

In other words, they recycle.

:)

19. My brother used to get my mom flowers from the one up the street
He was just a kid, but it was funny when he would bring them home. They were usually in pretty good shape too..lol. I guess things have changed since I was young.

13. Your neighbor's yard. Second best
and less etically challenging would be one of the roadside flower stands they have around here: 1 dozen red roses: $20.00 and nice, too. But you gotta' pay cash...

14. How about this?
Does she live near a Trader Joe's? I think they have nice flower arrangements and the prices seem really good. Call Trader's and put them on your charge. If you have a friend in the neighborhood, ask if he/she will pick them up and drop them off to your mom.

How's that for budget flowers?

OK, I know it's not as good as the funeral director's dumpster, but hey...

16. Heres the plan:
First, I'll stop by a cemetary and "pick up" some flowers... then I'll check the dumpsters outside Olive Garden and get one of those white thingeys to package up a nice meal for her... then I'll stop by (with my laundry) and give the dog a bath at her house (cause it makes such a mess at mine) and while I'm there I'll check her purse to see if she has any spare cash. Sound good?

23. I'm totally with you on this
My son is having a terrible time of things, and yes, it's hard to watch, and there's not much I can do to help. But I can feed him a few times a week, and I'd love to hold him and mother him.
