We've had her for 7 years; got her when she was a puppy. She has never, ever done anything like this. I hope nothing is wrong with her. x(

3. Mebbe she is stressed. We were gone all day, and we're usually
home on Sundays.

Her momma is a pomeranian; don't know what the daddy is. We got her from a private home.

2. Age/breed/situation/last time at the vet?
She probably needs to see the vet. Many, many things (both minor and major) can trigger that.

4. She's had some problems with her back.
The vet told us a long time ago that dogs like her (part pom) can have back problems. It gets hard for her to climb the stairs, or to even walk. The vet has us give her prednisone for a few days, and that usually fixes her right up. I'm thinking you're right; she needs to go to the vet.

8. Yes, she is. She has one more pill to take. It's not working as well
this time as it has before.

I think she also may have a hot spot. We've checked for fleas, and found nada, but there is an area on her back that she seems to tend to quite a bit.

9. Okay, well prednisone makes an animal very thirsty and very prone
to peeing (even on the floor). Pred is a tough drug to get used to for an animal. It's a steroid and it changes how the body works for a while.

Why is she on pred again?

As for the hot spot, they usually aren't flea related.

10. She's on the pred because she was having back problems again.
And thanks for the info, flvegan. I noticed that she's been drinking more, but as I said, she's never done that before. Poor thing was ashamed of herself, but I wasn't mad at her, because I know she hasn't been feeling well.

The vet did tell us that hot spots aren't flea related. She's had them several times, poor baby.

11. It happens.
Hell, if I was on pred, I'd pee my bed, I guarantee. I'm really glad that you see this problem that way (not being mad at her).

What did your vet suggest for the hot spot(s)?

14. I can't remember what he suggested, as it's been awhile since
she's had one. I'll take her in tomorrow. I love her vet. She doesn't even flinch when she gets shots, or gets poked or prodded.

Ah, I couldn't get mad at her for doing that, because as I said, it's not something she's ever done before, and she hasn't been her usual self lately. Poor thing tucked her tail between her legs after she was done, so I gave her a kiss and told her I wasn't mad.

This is Chloe:

19. Oh there are so many glucosamine chondroitin dog biscuits out there!
If she has back problems she probably has arthritis also. And I think the glucosamine and chondroitin would help even if she is not arthritic because it.........well it just helps.

The prednisone might be a reason for the peeing accident. It makes them drink a lot of water.

12. I hope nothing is wrong with your doggie either.
Maybe she was trying to help you out. She probably found a dirty spot on the floor and peed on it to let you know that it needed to be cleaned.

Good doggie!! :P

Really, all kidding aside. I do hope that there is nothing wrong with your fur-baby.

15. Was there tension in your house tonight? Someone missing who's usually there?
If none of the above, check with your Vet.

18. Well, MrSG and I were gone for quite awhile today, and there's
usually one of us around on Sunday, so maybe she was a bit freaked out. MrSG had to pry her off his lap when we were ready to leave.

20. Dogs have short attention spans, but LONG memories. Too many people forget that.
Or don't know it in the first place.

She reacts the same way whether we're gone for 15 minutes or 6 days.
