Apparently my avatar destroys my street cred
Which makes perfect sense - after all, everyone knows that people who listen to Pink Floyd have never dabbled in anything beyond some gentle lawn tennis and a cocktail.

This place kills me sometimes. :P

2. I knew a lot of Programmers that liked Floyd
Come to think of it, those guys all were not exactly gentle lawn tennis types either. I'm not sure I know of anybody that was a regular listener of Floyd that was into gentle lawn tennis.

"Several Species of Small Furry Animals Grooving In a Cave with a Pict" is NOT exactly normal fare for anyone without some type of chemical alteration or attitudinal aberration, I'm sorry to say.

You scare me, and I am married to a Floyd fan/programmer type who liked Syd Barrett.

4. I'm just always amazed at the leaps of logic that are made
Though come to think of it, lawn tennis while on acid with some Ummagumma playing might be kind of a fun way to spend a day. :smoke:

You had to look at that one, right.

Anyway. The Partridge Family had a song called "Point Me in the Direction of Albuquerque."

Now THAT'S how to destroy street cred.

amateurs.

6. I would strongly suggest the mushroom salsa prior to lawn tennis.
MDA would also be an option if you have to go write code later.

NOT that I am promoting any activity that would compromise your "upstanding" reputation, mind you...

mushroom 'salsa' is soooo 70's.

Sorry. I'm 70's sensitive. I survived Disco, and I'm old enough to remember the big Folk Music Scare the previous decade.

21. MDA isn't 70's centric?
Wow. I haven't seen MDA in years. Well--not since X became "the thang," any way. They used to cook up MDA in the chem labs and then sell it to the computer dudes, who loved it because it was not as big of a crash as acid was. They could still write code the next day.

X became the big deal because the chem wonks said it would be even LESS of a crash than MDA. (Amazing what an extra "Methyl" will do isn't it???)

We really ARE blowing your street creds all to hell, aren't we...

You're more aware of the drool.

On Demerol you can actually walk into the public library and say, "I'd like to read Moby Dick. Can you direct me to the whale section."

25. Pict Anti-Defamation League
Hey, stop picking on the Picts. There are still Picts around, and I've got the pics to prove it.

I saw one the other day picking a peck of pickled peppers.

Being small, they're seldom picked for basketball.

They resent being thought of as picayune and if you continue this practice, they will have a bone to pick with you.

Maybe this group, with our collective siglines, are the Breakout Point of a new and higher level of consciousness. The next level of evolution. The cosmic equivalent of Starbucks, Silly Putty, Volvo's and New Age Music! We are "Newstar Vulva Buck Putty something".

Okay, we'll have to work on the name.
