You know what's worse than robins eating my grass seeds?
Edited on Fri May-04-07 03:53 PM by Blue-Jay
I'll tell ya:

It's worse when I turn on the sprinkler to scare them off, and they call all their friends over to my yard.

"HEY everybody! Free food, AND a free shower!"

"Larry! Dude! This is better than the time when we snorted coke off of Gloria Gaynor's inner thigh at Studio 54 in 1982!"

"Hell yeah! It's hard to beat a shower and and open bar!"

--------------------------------

I just want a green lawn. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!?!

Fuckin' birds....

1. Hahahahaha!!! Yep, I feel ya! But all they want is food!
;)

My dogs pee on every plant and tree we have in the back yard. We've laid so much sod only for it to die due to pee!!

7. Sod = big bucks.
Seeds = 5 bucks.

Plus, I'm a glutton for punishment I suppose.

14. My wife doesn't like BB guns.
Not even when I tried to convince her that I could fight off the hoards of stripey-shirted, raccoon-masked, 1940's bad guys if only I had a Daisy rifle.

Nope. She didn't buy it.

...they eat the seeds in a pattern that spells "screw you" when the grass grows.

I can only hope that our pet worms in the compost bin are safe.

Nature conspires against me on a daily basis.

escaped zoo gorillas shitting in your birdbath. You need to give people time to guess if you're going to give a quiz.

13. No. THAT would be awesome!
Gorillas roaming around in my yard would rock harder than anything!

(aside from Dio attacking me with a magical heavy metal sword, of course)

15. Yeah I do...worse are the grackles that use my pool as a TOILET
while cleaning out their nests of baby bird poo. Nice big bullseye, they drop it in right in front of me while I scream bloody murder...they do not care.

Flyby poo bombs...my solar cover is a poo slick. So is the concrete surrounding the pool...and my deck..

Now I am going outside to sit with the hose cause I am all worked up again. I have had it dropped on my head before.

21. I swear, they deliberately aim for me, and then look back to see where it landed
bastards - and they BRUTALIZE any kid of food I may put out during hard times for birds (we do not feed during good times)

They are like crows and ravens where they also like to steal things...smart bastards scare me...and they are not one WHIT afraid of me. I have also seen them take their wings and scoop out a birdbath when they are done so no one else can use it after they fly away because it is empty.

24. If they live in your yard....
Look on the bright side! They poop in your yard, meaning the seeds are going to get there eventually AND fertilize it at the same time!

26. Did ya put anything
on top of the seed?

I put some peat over the seed and keep it good and wet for at least three weeks. Seed will germinate and the bares spots can be reseeded later. But don't over seed. I'm sure it will be just fine.
