1. It is such a mix between the first 2 for me! I think both are true some of the times!

2. I think it is indicative of any other online community...

especially given that this is a 2-dimensional bulletin board site that typically isn't accompanied by pictures or sound with every post(like exists in other communities), the opportunities for verbal abuse is constant.

But there are many, many more examples of support, I think. It can be a great place to air one's grievances or to simply share... it can also be a place to be creative. :)

5. The good outweighs the bad

There's lots of good news gathering which goes on here. The lounge is a friendly, if sometimes confusing place. I've always skipped over the flame-war threads, so they don't bother me, though occasionally I will drop into one just to see how a particular thread turned flamey.

I always learn something here... who would've thunk perfume scents needed to be matched to a particular season? :silly:
