Twin Cities/Western WI DUers--I'm gonna be on TV!

It'll be the May 19th episode of Ralph Jon Fritz's "Out and About" which airs after the 10:00 pm News on WCCO 4. Yes they are doing a segment on MN Kayakers and Kayaking. Most of it is about a local guy who is pretty much world famous (for a paddler that is, in other words almost totally anonymous!) However, a few friends and I got to provide colorful activity for the background, footage of the brutal hike to the put in, and maybe a few shots of us playing around.


Sadly this won't be available on the internet (I checked) for a very long time, if ever. But, if you get 'CCO and aren't out tryin' to get your swerve on in two Saturdays you'll be able to witness my birth as a media superstar. ;)

I think it should be fun. The camera crews were shocked at the hike to the put in! They only did about the first 40 feet.

Oh yeah, for folks who haven't seen my pics, and thus won't recognize me, I'm in the red top, w/ blue life jacket, blue helmet and yellow boat. I also have the pointy nose.

13. I'm fantastic.

I moved away from my slum to a wonderful new apt. this last summer and I couldn't be happier. I have a beautiful place to garden, so that makes it even better. It's wonderful to have emerged from the great Minnesota thaw.

The kitties are doing fine. They're a little too needy lately, as I haven't been home as much, but otherwise they are their usual mischievous selves. :D

I've been doing alright. A few ups and downs the last year (re-hospitalized last june, diagnosed and treated for sleep apnea, plus re-diagnosed with bipolar 2 instead of depression), but things are coming together. I've joined the Y, started eating better, and have managed to drop almost 25 lbs since November. The band is cranking up, and I just started dating a very cool woman a couple months ago. I feel the best I've felt in 20 years.

Overall things are on the rise. Now if I can just figure out a way to not work and get paid for it, too. :D

the last two years have have been doozies for you. Does your band plan on playing out? I've become such a shut in i'd love to have an excuse to go and see a good band. :D

17. yeah, it's just about two years to the day

I actually celebrate that day now as a personal "Bastille Day", believe it or not. I'm a sick bastage. :D

I'll let you know once we get our act together and start playing. We've played one private party in the past year, and unfortunately I've gotten a small case of stage fright, so I'm dealing with that too. Hopefully we'll be playing out again soon!
