I need some help with a memory card question

I just bought a 4GB SD memory card for my camera made by Connect3D. The camera is a Kodak Easyshare C875. When I put the card in the screen says cards must be formatted. When I try to format the card it does nothing then it says I need to format the card. Is the card too big for the camera. Kodak has no info on their site. I bought the card from Woot.com for $20 so even if I can't use it in the camera it will work in my Palm T/X.

1. I am not entirely certain.

I just looked in the FAQs for your camera and it said a 2GB card would work, but nothing about a 4 GB card. My guess is, probably not.

3. No kidding, that IS a great find.

I have the EasyShare Z740. I am thinking Kodak did not make the hardware compatible with such a large card. My manual says I can use a 2 gig card also.
