Dennis Miller--Now and Then
Courtesy of atrios....

Dennis Miller Now:
"Well, can you blame me? One of the biggest malfeasances of the left right now is the mislabeling of Hitler. Quit saying this guy is Hitler," he said, referring to Mr. Bush. "Hitler is Hitler. That's the quintessential evil in the history of the universe, and we're throwing it around on MoveOn.org to win a contest. That's grotesque to me."

Then:
Indeed, Miller was especially merciless in bashing Gingrich. Many of his anti-Newt quips compared the House Speaker to Adolf Hitler ? and, by extension, portrayed the GOP Congress as a sinister collection of would-be brownshirts. For example, in his opening monologue on December 23, 1994, Miller joked that Gingrich's forthcoming book would "be available through the Mein Kampf of the Month Club." A few weeks later, he announced the post-election transfer of power on Capitol Hill as follows: "Gingrich and the Republicans took over Congress this week. This is actually Gingrich's second attempt to seize power, the first, of course, being the ill-fated Beer Hall Putsch."

1. His defense surely is that he was 'just joking'
Do you believe his sell-out is genuine, or is he writing a book and thinking that he can cash in on being a conservative?

3. Total Opportunist
But when the tide turns he will claim otherwise and try to jump back on board.

The Third Reich had entertainers like this too. Some decided to go along and embrace Hitler for the sake of their careers; others, like Marlene Dietrich, refused and eventually left the country.

selling out genuinely and cashing in on the wave of necon conservatism to sell a book is the same thing.

5. He has a new show on CNBC
I don't know when it starts.
I'm sure it will bomb, just like the rest of his career.

14. Have you see the idiotic promo
that they're running for it? He's standing there, leaning on big "CNBC" letters, and he says, smirking, "CNBC, the roman numerals for funny", and then there's this phony "crew laughter" in the background and he just smirks like he was even in the same room as a joke.

9. I wonder how much money it costs to buy Dennis Miller.
I don't think he's worth anything but someone must be writing him checks regularly.

10. Miller is a certified Bush Whore
he's trying to build his career on hate now - like Limbaugh and Hannity. He is a lost cause.

12. he's partially funny
I've always thought Dennis Miller was funny and never really cared about the politics. Although it seems lately that whenever I see him making jokes on tv, about half of em are funny and the other half leave me scratchign my head and going "what the hell did he just say?"
