A guy tried to sell me a video camera today -- cheap

A guy hollered at me in the parking lot of a truckstop today. He said "hey man, check this out." I thought at first he was going to offer to sell me some weed or coke.

It turned out that his car was loaded with brand-new camcorders, still in their original packaging. They even had price tags on them that said "$599.99." They looked like some sweet equipment.

He said "I'll let you have one for $100. And if you buy more than one, I'll give you a discount."

It was really tempting. Like I said, those cameras really looked nice. But I chickened out. I was afraid of getting popped for receiving stolen property.

Would you have bought one?

But then, I'm a gullible moran, who is easily misled.

So, yes, I would have bought one. But no right-thinking person would have.

most times the stuff sold from vans and the trunks of cars is really cheap no-name crap that is not even worth the bargain price they ask.

They will sell you boxes that contain a brick or something instead of a camera. My Grandfather's buddies in WW2 used to take empty cigarette cartons...stick a 2x4 in them, and sell them to the locals. Isn't that terrible?

The way they were packaged in clear plastic, it was easy to see that cameras were in there.
