Three weeks to pack and/or dispose of 2 tiny rooms full of stuff.
Yet I know I'll procrastinate for 2-1/2 weeks.

I hate moving.

3. I hated moving but glad I'm here now
I later took a job further away (against traffic so not much in the way of public transit to work) and some old coworkers assumed I was going to move. I bought last time and I'm not going through that again! I agree moving in and putting things away is nice, it's just the packing up that sucks, especially with a pet who likes to jump in boxes that aren't full and shutting him up somewhere or boarding him when the actual move occurs.

I had the habit of putting away kitchen things I thought I wasn't going to use and then realizing I needed something mid-recipe and having to dig it out.

4. Well, I'm going to sell or donate almost everything of mine. Taking my
scooter, bike, cameras, computers and some books. Plus the few things Mrs. qnr packed up before she left for TX. Thing is, being a social phobic, it's really stressing me that I'll have to deal with people, but I'd hate to just donate a lot of this nice stuff (I don't hate the donation part, just that I'm fixed income, so I'd like to get some cash to help with the cost of the move).

5. Me? I'd pack everything a month early, except for the computer and pillows.
I need little else in life beyond computers and pillows.

no guarantee how long I'll be conscientious :) -- currently, I'm just going through things to put into the trash/shred pile - and ripping/encoding all of my CDs so I don't have to carry them.

7. I've been cleaning out a 1500 sq ft house for four years!!!
Mom was a packrat of the worst kind, and I think about 5 households were packed in!!
The auction guy filled a 40 foot gooseneck trailer almost all the way to the back with furniture, and boxes I filled with stuff. And there is still stuff in the house.

I think we threw away about 200 big trash bags full of paper and plastic and crap.

It's a bitch when you can't move until you clean out the house you're moving to, and it's like a chinese puzzle. Little tiles moving around.

And I got stuff to sell in the city house too!! Agghhh!
