I am Writer, the Gigantic Dork.
So I'm printing a calendar I created in Word, one of those campy templates Microsoft concocted to make the home office experience adorable. After it's finished I plan to take a ball point pen and scribe little lists for myself, on chosen days on the calendar, to encourage a more disciplined life.

"Clean floors" one note will say. "Write" another will say. My invisible secretary, there to keep me on track. The calendar continues until April 2008. My life as a list. What an incredible dork I am.

And will it work? I don't know. Perhaps now I'll write, "Vacuum floors," but will that list change as the months pass? Will I read on January 12, 2008, that I should "Reorient my concept of living," or "Give up now. You're just hurting yourself, woman!"

As you can tell, I'm cynical. I've always looked warily at these cute little systems, they remind me of my summers as a child when I planned my television viewing and random creative endeavors. Trying to get a grip on my complicated childhood, I suppose. Or maybe I always have been a dork. A giant dork who enjoys using Microsoft Word's calendar wizard just a little too much.

5. I definitely am not as cool as that particular dork. He has a cooler car...
as I drive in my sensible Honda. Which is a sensible silver-color. As I run all of my sensible errands for myself and Mr. Writer. :silly:

10. Cars in general were cooler back in 1984
Of course they weren't quite as safe which is why that guy was taken from us too soon

Thanks for reminding me to listen to that album.

2. I'm a list person. Love lists. Make lists all the time.
The older I get, the more necessary the lists are.

6. Seriously...
I am, as well. I am scatter-brained, actually, so lists are of utmost importance. :D

9. I should write lists
Would a list help me remember why I walked down to the basement? I must be here to get something, right?

Or help me remember why I opened the refrigerator door? I did that for a reason, I'm sure!

7. My dorkiness well overshadows my relatively normal size.
The great shadow of my dorkosity follows me always.
