The ultimate reality show: Christians vs. Lions in the coliseum

How long is it before "reality shows" end with someone's death. I remember watching the Running Man and thinking that this would never happen, but we have apparetnly shown everything else up to this already. I saw five minutes of a show last night where a bride and groom "punk" their friends and family on a show called Crashers. It was very bad and the participants came across like tools.

Can we go ahead and have Christians v. Lions or death row inmates fighting for a commuted sentance and get it over with? Every couple of months I end up cutting more and more of my cable. The next cut will knock me down to the basic channels. I bet I'll be happier without tv telling me how and what to think.

the original by Stephen King, not the 'movie book'

he describes an incredibly dark future, where millions have dead end jobs (or no job) and apply to be on TV game shows to make quick money. "The Running Man" is just the premier show of many. The 'runner' is allowed to go anywhere in the US, with viewers calling in to report sightings for cash (reminiscent of "America's Most Wanted" and "Cops") and the runner earning money for days on the run and police officers killed.

We're close to that.
