Woman Arrested For Flashing Child

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. -- A 40-year-old Fort Myers Beach woman was arrested after authorities said she stood in front of her neighbor's yard and flashed his 5-year-old daughter.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office reports that Nancy C- Grasso had nothing on beneath her T-shirt Sunday when she lifted it up and "jumped around" in front of the man and his daughter.

Grasso was arrested and charged with exposing sexual organs. She was later released on a surety bond.

4. I personally think it should be legal for women to walk around topless

in public. Laws that forbid such from women, but permit it from men, are discriminatory. That's one reason we'll probably never see the Equal Rights Amendment passed and ratified; everytime it gets close, the conservative boobiephobes get everyone riled up at the thought of topless women in public. To be fair, it *would* make it Unconstitional for laws to apply only to one gender. But in my view, that's all to the good. We might never be able to overcome our ridiculous body taboos, but with some help from the ERA, maybe our kids can.

They are FAR more qualified as sexual organs than breasts.

Instead of being charged with exposing sexual organs, she should have just been evaluated for psychological problems.

I'm not sure how jumping around like a lunatic without a shirt on is anymore traumatic to a 5-year-old girl than doing the same thing with a shirt on.

If my little boy and I were walking down a street together, and some guy in a trenchcoat ran up and flashed me, my kid would probably see it too. But does that mean that he *intended* to flash the kid--or just the adult woman, and the kid happened to be there?

This smells like a case of two neighbors who don't get along, and one does something petty and purposefully annoying (flashing), so the other decides to spin it as something much worse than it was to get back at her. People are vindictive and small like that.

And I agree with you--seeing bare breasts is not going to traumatize or harm a little girl. The hands *are* used far more often (and more directly, and in a greater variation of ways) for sexual contact than the breasts are.
