Do you think this guy is any good?

These are recordings of a guy I know. He's a dockworker at a fitness equipment supply warehouse, but I and some people we know have encouraged him to pursue a singing career because we all think he's pretty good. Well, I uploaded some recordings we made and I wanted to know what you guys think. Keep in mind these aren't the best recordings, we were using just a small hand held recorder, but I think you get a pretty good idea. Also, you may want to turn your speakers down, there is some feedback at times.

1. He's pretty flat on the high notes

3. Yeah, I guess I don't have that ear for music like some people

I can't really tell what he's doing wrong, even if I know it doesn't sound quite right. Hehe, if nothing else, we'll get him out to some karaoke bars and see if we can't get him laid. Lol. ;)

2. I like his voice

He has a pleasant tone in my opinion. Of course, like you said, the recordings are a bit rough, but I think if he had a chance to sing with better equipment, he would sound really good.

Personally, I think he could get something together and do some professional singing in clubs and maybe more.
