Atlanta area dogs need new homes; their owner is very ill...
At least, I think the dogs are in the Atlanta area, as the contact info below is an Atlanta-burbs area code.

I just received this email from Best Friends organization, and I am going to post it in full below. I am not in the area but thought perhaps someone might be interested in getting a new dog or helping out. Here's the email with contact info (the photos probably won't come through; if you want to see pics and each dog's info flyer, please PM me and I'll forward you the email if you provide me with your email address. I'll be out of town this coming week, but can send info this weekend (April 21/22) and again after April 26):

Dear Best Friends Members,

Jennifer contacted us to let us know that her mother who has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis has become too ill to care for her beloved family of rescued dogs. The dogs urgently need to find homes by the end of April and can be adopted or fostered individually. Jennifer says her mother, Suzanne would be happy to give a monthly amount towards their food and upkeep. The dogs asked for a chance to introduce themselves to you and had the following to say about themselves:

My name is HARRY and I can actually say "HELLO"! I am a purebred 6 year old Blue Tick Coonhound. I was found behind a workshop on a cold snowy night. When my current family found me I was a puppy and I was crying because I was really cold. I I like to sing, play with other dogs and I really love children. I can play "chase the stick" for hours! I am neutered, very friendly, and potty trained too! If you take me home, I’d be interested in learning other words in your language particularly, “thank you!”

Hi! I am KING BRUTUS! Don’t be fooled by my name: I am extremely loyal. I am told that I am a very large yellow Lab/chow mix. My family says that I have the personality of a yellow lab but my hair is thick like a chow! I am a gentle giant.and VERY friendly . I like other dogs and sharing. I love children too and I am a big snuggle bug. I adopted my current family as a puppy four years ago by just showing up on their property. I was so sweet so they let me stay. I am neutered and potty trained too.

I am so pretty that Suzanne named me GORGEOUS when I showed up at her home. The vet thinks I am about 7 years old. I am a very sweet girl. I was already grown up when I found Suzanne and I am still very shy. I am very gentle and good with children and I need someone who will take the time to get to know me and help me fully become the great dog and wonderful companion I am meant to be. I am spayed and potty trained.

Hi, I’m SQUIRT! Don’t be fooled by my prematurely grey hair which is probably the result of the kind of rough start I had in life. I was found as a puppy stuck inside a roll of telephone wire – Boy was I ever glad to see Suzanne! That was 9 years ago. I am very sweet, gentle, good with children and other dogs. I am spayed and potty trained.

My name is LITTLE GIRL . I am a Flat Coated Retriever/Border Collie mix. I am a little shy but once I warm up to you -we will be friends for life. I was found as a puppy living in the woods, that was 8 years ago. I am wonderful with children and I love attention. I am good with other dogs but I would prefer to be the center of your attention. I will dance and smile for you, especially if you offer to put "Perrier" in my water dish(my mom really gives me plain water :)!!) I am spayed and potty trained.

My name is SMILING BUD and I am a purebred male Black Lab. I am a tall, and large for my breed and I will be 9 years old in December. My current mommy found me at the dump, snuggled up to a Budweiser beer bottle, hence the name "Bud". Anyway, I am always smiling, am very good with other dogs and children. I am neutered and potty trained ! I love to snuggle and give kisses, especially after a back scratch and a tummy rub!

If you think one of this stellar group of dogs is the companion of your dreams, please contact Suzanne at 770-894-1948 or 770-479-1047. She will be able to get the dogs to their new rescuers/families. You can also help by passing this message on to your friends, families and co-worker. You can also help by posting and forwarding the attached flyers.
