Food: Can't answer...too many favorites

Beverage: Again, can't answer. Lots of juices, water, certain sodas (high on the list of current favorites in the US selection is Tropicana Twister Diet orange soda), and real ginger beer (the kind not very available in the US) are favorites.

Alcoholic beverage: None, but I think rum would be my beverage of choice if I partook. It's the only alcohol I've ever tasted. apart from vanilla wine and certain fruity things, that wasn't putrid.

Way to kill an hour: Today probably music -- listening to or making -- I guess. Depends on where I am in my life. Lots of other things, too. I don't seem too able to give just one answer to these questions, darn it.

Flower: Never thought too much about it. Hibiscuses are pretty cool, though.

Song: can't even begin to pick one from each of my favorite performers, let alone one overall favorite song.

Band/Singer: Elvis Presley. There're lots of runners-up, though, starting with the Beatles.

Breakfast cereal(s): Trader Joe's Raisin Bran and Flax cereals. Haven't bene eating them lately, though: been drinking protein shakes (Spirulina chocolate protein powder, ice, nonfat milk, and half a frozen banana)

Toothpaste: Trader Joe's spearmint. Also use Tom's of Maine and Nature's Gate brands...I prefer the 'natural' kind these days.

Deodorant: some kind of Dove stuff. I'm going to switch back to just a deodorant, because I'm not too keen on the compounds they use to try for an antiperspirant effect (an effect that's pretty much moot with me, anyway).

Computer: Apple Macintosh Titanium Powerbook. Been my trusty sole computer since I returned to the US in 2004. It fit my fugitive lifestyle then (and I had no idea which country I'd end up in...it's a 17" screen version, small enough for travel but large enough to play DVDs on and use as my entertainment center for temporary overseas stays). I have the money now for a new desktop computer but I don't feel I need one again yet. I've even done artwork (sold it, too) on this laptop -- the trackpad's as easy to finesse as a mouse, once you get used to it. I added a LaCie external DVD burner recently, because my computer's returned too many errors (especially on DVDs), have an Epson multifunction printer thingy, and I'm happy with it all. My desktop computer, when I get it will be another Mac...never owned a PC and don't want to.

Pet food: unfortunately, I don't need any at this time

Laundry soap/softener: Kirkland (Costco) detergent and Woolite (giant bottles from Costco) for jumpsuits and so on

Bathroom tissue: Kirkland (Costco) brand. Otherwise I favor Charmin Ultra and the like.

Ice cream: Not eating much lately...in the US, a reliable favorite is Dryer's/Edy's. Safeway store brand is good, too. So is Thrifty's, a Western classic long beloved of many people in the Western states, now sold in Rite Aid stores in the West (but, apparently, not nationwide). Used to love Texas' Blue Bell, but that stuff is not available here yet (probably just as well).

How well do you swim? Pretty much like a god. :D Started swimming as a baby and never got out of the water. My currently-on-backburner career involved swimming, too. I had to swim for my life more than a few times. Rescued others, too.

What are you afraid of? Not much, really. In the physical world, I've proven pretty robust and I've lived, played, and worked in potentially dangerous situations (and often day in and day out with 'dangerous' animals), so I have a healthy respect for Nature and her conditions and beasties but not irrational fear. Sometimes I have transitory worries that affect me for a while, but little really provokes true fear. People and relationships (here I'm talking generally, not solely in romantic terms) probably cause most of the anxiety I've ever felt. I've gone night diving solo on remote Indo-Pacific reefs where I'd seen plenty of sharks during daylight hours (didn't see any at night on those reefs, though I have elsewhere) and been pretty much calm, turning my little flashlight off for most of the dives when I was between taking pictures, but if I were to try to ask a woman I liked out on a date I'd never get the words out. :D
