So there's not much worshiping going on over here. Usually it's him and me fighting over the bills and who is going to clean up after the cultists.

Man, evil cultists just aren't as neat as they used to be. What slackers!

5. But the question was about coolness

Cthulhu is many things -- but I'm not sure cool is one of them. In fact, if you went through HPL from cover to cover, you would problably find a hundred adjectives describing Cthulhu alone, and yet I dare say "cool" would not be among them.

That's why I voted for Robert Anton Wilson. Still obscure enough to have that esoteric cachet, eccentric enough not to be over-obvious, deep enough to be worth actually recommending to others. That fits my definition of "cool" perfectly.
