Has anyone else read World War Z by Max Brooks?
I'm not much on sci-fi books, but that is honestly one of the best written and entertaining books I have ever read. I couldn't believe that a book about a zombie apocalypse could be so engrossing.

Has anyone else read it.

1. I read it shortly after it came out
His Zombie Survival Guide is what motivated me to read it. I think one of the reasons it's so good is that he plays it very straight; I loved reading the survivors' stories, especially the ones that recall the latter stages of the outbreak when strategies had been developed to deal with the zombie menace.

And if you loved the book, you'll probably want to see the movie. :)

3. I was about to say..
about that new movie, someone just told me about it.

I haven't read that book but I do have the Zombie Survival Guide.

And I'm going to a zombie walk this weekend, finally, my first one ever. I'm working this week on making tasty blood!!

Somebody posted an article this morning at a zombie group, it's 2 months old-

5. WWZ is much better than Zombie Survival Guide.
Much better writing, compelling stories, deep insight into what would happen socially and politically if a zombie outbreak occurred, tons of unexpected surprises. It is very good.

8. Thanks it's on my list!
I can't not get a zombie book.
I'm more into the movies but my husband will read it, he reads the zombie comics.

4. Yes. Some of it I found kind of spooky, some funny.
And it really held my interest.

Check out this thread on the Books-Fiction forum about the book.

6. Not yet, but I've got the Zombie Survival Guide.
Awesome book, but he really has no clue about guns.

7. How could a zombie apocalypse NOT be engrossing?
I haven't read it yet but I sure as hell plan to.
