There's three cops in front of my house
About half an hour ago I was sitting in my house writing a scandalous expose on Tom Tancredo when I heard a huge crash. One of my neighbor's trees fell over and is now laying in the middle of the road.

Now I have the whole street blocked off, three cops out there including a dog handler, the fire department just pulled up to get the fucking tree out of the street...good times all around.

1. Evidently when a tree falls in your forest, it does make a sound.
Why did it fall over? Are you getting bad weather, or did the tree just collapse from ennui?

2. High winds and rotten heartwood
The fire department got the tree out of the street, so the excitement is now over.

3. See, I probably would get my 36 inch bowsaw and go help
Two years ago, I think on memorial day we had a huge windstorm centered on my neighborhood. A tree crushed the car across the street and half of my humongous cottonwood came down. What a holiday that was, sawing and hauling. Worse yet, I had no power for most of the day, and thus no air conditioning or light or internets. They had power across the street from me though, so finally I got on my bike and went to where I work, took a shower and soaked in the air conditioning. Amazing how much wood there is in a tree.
